Initial assessment in which you inspect the overall condition of the instrument for any obvious damage. Assess the condition of the electronics to see if the pots, pickups, and output jack are in working order.
Inspect the strings and assess if new strings are required.
Take initial measurements of string height for neck relief adjustments.
General maintenance of fret polishing and fretboard cleaning, electronics cleaning, and general cleaning.
Adjust the truss rod (if necessary) to obtain proper string height as well as bridge adjustment.
Assess string action and find the "sweet spot" for individual strings by adjusting string height at the bridge now (no buzzing.)
Set the intonation for each string.

The procedure for acoustic guitars is very similar; however, certain adjustments are completed differently.
